After that, you add a customer's name and email after each job and AskForStars does the asking. Everything is done by email, with no calls.

You get a full refund of your first month. Just reply to your Stripe receipt or email hello@askforstars.co.uk. After the first month, the normal rule applies: cancel anytime, no refunds for part months.

Yes, any time. It's a simple monthly subscription with no contract and no minimum term. Just email hello@askforstars.co.uk and your service stops at the end of the month you've paid for. Apart from the set-up promise below, there are no refunds for part months.

Yes. You need a Google Business Profile (it's free) with a review link. We'll help you find your link during set-up.

Your Google Business Profile review link (the "Get more reviews" / "Ask for reviews" link in your profile) and your customers' email addresses. No software to install and nothing to connect.

As soon as you add the customer. If they don't click the review link, one reminder goes out a few days later. Then we stop.

At most two: the first request, then one gentle reminder a few days later if they haven't clicked. After that we stop.

Emails are sent on your behalf from our sending service, with your business name as the sender name (for example "Smith & Sons Plumbing via AskForStars"). Plain, personal-style emails with a single link tend to land well, but no one can guarantee inbox placement, so we don't either.

There's no per-email charge or monthly cap for a single small business asking its own genuine customers after real jobs. It's fair use: one business, your own customers, not bought or bulk mailing lists.

Yes. Every email includes a clear unsubscribe link. Once someone opts out, they're added to your business's suppression list and AskForStars won't email them again on your behalf.

The basics, in plain English:

• Review requests can count as marketing emails under PECR. Only add customers who have agreed to hear from you, or where the "soft opt-in" applies (they bought from you, you gave them a chance to opt out, and you're emailing about your own similar services).
• You are in charge of your customers' data. AskForStars only processes it to send your review requests and reminders.
• We store the minimum: customer name, email address and send/click/unsubscribe status. We never sell it or use it for anything else.
• Every email says who it's from and includes an unsubscribe link.
