AskForStarsTerms of service
1. The service
AskForStars ("we", "us") is run by Ciprian S, London. It lets UK trades and other local businesses ("you") send polite emails to their own customers asking for an honest Google review, with at most one reminder per customer. It is email-only.
2. Subscription and billing
The plan costs £19 a month, billed monthly by card via Stripe, starting on the day you subscribe. That's the full price: AskForStars is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. There's no contract or minimum term.
Set-up promise: after you subscribe, we'll email you from hello@askforstars.co.uk to set you up. Not set up within 1 working day of subscribing? Full refund of your first month, just reply to your receipt or email hello@askforstars.co.uk.
You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@askforstars.co.uk; the service stops at the end of the month you've paid for. Apart from the set-up promise above, we don't give refunds for part months, except where the law requires it. We may change the price, but we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email first.
3. Your responsibilities
- Only add customers who have agreed to hear from you, or where the PECR "soft opt-in" genuinely applies. You're responsible for having a lawful basis to email them.
- Only ask for honest reviews. Don't offer discounts, gifts, money or other incentives for reviews, don't only ask happy customers, and don't write or request fake reviews.
- Follow Google's review and content policies.
- Use your own correct Google review link and accurate business details.
- Don't use AskForStars to send spam or anything unlawful, misleading or abusive.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
4. Data
You control your customers' data and we process it only to send your review requests. See our privacy notice. Unsubscribe requests are honoured permanently for your business.
5. No guarantees about reviews
We send the emails; we can't guarantee how many customers will leave a review, what they'll say, or whether Google will publish it. We aim to keep the service running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
6. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost reviews.
7. Ending the service
You can cancel at any time. We can end the service with 30 days' email notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
